Witnessing the first rays of the rising sun fall on the snow-capped peaks of the famous Himalayas is definitely one of the most sought-after experiences in Nepal. Luckily, you can enjoy such breathtaking view almost every day in Nagarkot. Settled 2,195 meters above the ground in Bhaktapur district, the rural village of Nagarkot is considered the most popular destination in Nepal for captivating sunrises and panoramic views of eight Himalayan mountain ranges encircling the hamlet, including Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Jugal, Rolwaling, Langtang, Mahalangur and Numbur. From the viewing point or your hotel balcony, you can easily catch some of the most magnificent sunrise views if you get the right time. The timing of dawn varies according to seasons, but the best is from October to December and March to April when the skies are clear and likely cloud free. During summers, the sun rises between 5:00 am to 5:40 am while in winters, it is around 6:30 am to 7:00 am.
