Halong's sea & limestone pillars includes three adjacent bays: Halong Bay, Bai Tu Long bay and Lan Ha bay. However, since Halong Bay is more popular to travelers so its normally quite crowded, especially in the peak season. We usually suggest to visit Lan Ha Bay or Bai Tu Long because both of them not only share many similar geological characters with Halong Bay but considered as off the beaten tourist track with no less many pristine beaches and impressive karst mountains.
There is no limited time for honeymoon vacation, it depends on your interests and budget. However, we recommend in great 10-14 day trips for the best experience.
