The waterfall consists of two parts: the main waterfall (also known as the low waterfall) and the sub-waterfall (high waterfall).
The main waterfall looks from afar as soft white silk strips across the hill's back. This is the widest and most beautiful part of Ban Gioc Waterfalls. The fall is about 100 m wide, 70 m high and 60 m deep. The main waterfall belongs to both Vietnam and China, the dividing boundary is the Quay Son river flowing below.
The sub-waterfall is higher than the main waterfall, but has less water and usually is dry in the dry season.
