Discover the divine Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm shrine in Siem Reap
Referring to the attractions of Siem Reap, travelers should not ignore the famous shrine with a long name: Preah Ang Check Preah Ang Chorm. If you just read this name without understanding the meaning, surely visitors will not be able to remember it. But knowing that these are the names of the two princesses of the ancient Angkor kingdom, everyone finds it interesting and remembers it longer. This local main shrine worships the sacred statutes of two princesses which were moved to Siem Reap in 1990 from the Preah Poan gallery in Angkor Wat. Although very small, the shrine is always packed with locals and Cambodians from all over the country, especially around dusk, as Cambodians believe that two princesses will bring them good luck. Next to the place, you’ll also see the tall trees of the Royal Gardens and many beautiful bronze Buddha statues.
