Pindaya is a township to the west of Shan State, where is famous for the Pindaya Cave with thousands of Buddha images inside. Pindaya cave is a well-known religious site in Pindaya which is situated in the southwest of the town centre. Pindaya is truly a massive cave containing thousands of Buddha statues in various shapes, sizes, and materials. This is an overwhelming place with a great maze of Buddhas and natural columns from stalactites to stalagmites that you should not miss when in Pindaya.
This beautiful teak-built monastery is downhill from Pindaya Cave along the path back to Pone Taloke Lake. Hsin Khaung Taung Kyaung remains carved teak panels dating back two centuries ago. Tourists can spend a quick visit here for admiring ancient architectures on the way back to the centre.
Aung Umbrella is a family-run Shan paper and umbrella workshop downtown Pindaya right at the foot of the mountain locating Buddha Cave.
