Plain of Jars

According to archaeologists, Plain of Jars was burial grounds of primitive citizens with the age from 2,000 to 2,500 years old. Stepping in the jar sites, you may feel like stepping into the world of giants with thousands of large stone jars varying from 1 to 3 meters in height strewn all over the plateau. Mulberries Organic Silk Farm

Founded in 1993 and situated just out of Phonsavan, Mulberries Organic Sik Farm is a place where people can witness all the Lao’s silk-making process. Tourists can join a guided tour to the farm with English speaking staff, visit the gift shop, and have themselves a variety of stunning silk products here.

Tad Lang Waterfall

Tad Lang is a beautiful 800m-in-height waterfall which is belonged to the Nam Xan River, near Jar Site 3 of the Plain of Jars. To get here, you need to follow a 700m trail winding along the river bank where also offers great picnic spots. Muang Khoun

This is the capital of the ancient Phuan Kingdom in the 14th century. Located to the Southeast of Phonsavan, Muang Khoun is a historical site where still remains several remnants of a well-off empire in Laos. Destroyed during the Indochina War, the most visible ruins surviving until now in Muang Khoun are a stone wall with brick archways, sections of Wat Piawat Temple (built-in 1564) and its large Buddha statue, pillars and relics of French colonial rule.
