Admire breathtaking view when hiking uphill to Cheri Monastery
Located on a hilltop around 15km away from Thimphu to the North, Cheri Monastery, with its special location where offers an aerial view of the valley below, is famous for its favorite hiking route if you're seeking a soft adventure when in the capital city. Leaving the city behind, you will head back closer to the tranquility of the nature and spiritual ambiance of a non-touristy religious site. It takes more than one hour from the road to the monastery. This is a pleasant walk through woodlands which offer shade at times. Crossing a wooden bridge and climbing up the hill with moss-laden pine, fir and rhododendron trees will evoke a great sense of immersing in the unspoiled natural beauty.
