Colorful Thimphu Dromchoe Festival with sacred dances
Thimphu Dromchoe is a Buddhist festival which is annually held at the Tashichho Dzong, Thimphu in the autumn. Lead by the Central Monastic Body, it is regarded as one of the grand cultural events of Bhutan and the government will declare three-day holiday for Thimphu residents during the festive time. The festival plays an essential part in Bhutanese's ways of life as it's the time when people across the country come and pray together for a successful year. Showcasing the sacred dances that dedicate to the Female Protective Deity of Bhutan, Palden Lhamo; the Thimphu Dromchoe also provides an up close and personal view of Buddhist rituals in Bhutan as well as the country's rich traditions.
