Discover Jelly fish life on Kakaban Island
Part of the Derawan Archipelago, off the east coast of East Kalimantan, Kakaban Island become world-famous due to its unique land-locked lake in the middle of the island. Making up almost two thirds of the island, this brackish lake is home to millions of stingless jellyfish that only exist in one other place on earth which is at Palau in the Philippines. Here visitors can swim and dive unharmed with this fascinating creature, and even touch them. Besides four different species of stingless jellyfish, the lake is also home to several species of fish, sea cucumbers, crabs, and clams.
