James Bond Island
James Bond Island, locally named Koh Tapu, is a famous landmark in Phang Nga Bay that travelers should not miss when in Phuket. Together with Khao Phing Kan, the island surrounding it, Koh Tapu made its starring role in the 1974 Bond movie 'The Man with the Golden Gun', which gave its name onto the international tourist map as James Bond Island. The island is actually a 20-meter limestone karst tower vertically rising from the sea that the best way to view it is from the small beach on Khao Phing Kan as the distance is around 40 meters. Taking a stunning photo in the Bond pose is definitely a must when visiting these islands. Besides, you can explore the forest-covered Koh Phing Kan with some small caves inside or check out some souvenir stalls on the eastern beach.
