Bori Parinding
A 20-minute drive from Rantepao along winding roads, you will see many big stone monuments like since the megalithic era on the high side of the main road. Those are the menhirs placed in front of Bori Parinding, a megalithic funeral site and burial ground. This complex has the largest menhir field in the region with over 100 menhirs dotted around an open area, representing the actions of Ramba dead nobles who are buried in this ancient burial complex. Visiting the site, you will understand why Bori Parinding is of enormous cultural significance for people in Toraja.
