Gedong Songo Temple

Gedong Songo is a group of small Hindu Javanese temples on the slopes of Mount Ungaran, about 900 meters above sea level. Built at about the same time with a similar architectural structure to the temples on the Dieng Plateau, this complex is one of the most beautifully temple sites in Central Java that even predates Borobudur and Prambanan temples. Gedung Songo consist of five clusters: Temples I, II, III, IV and V, spreading over the higher parts of the mountains, which offer splendid view of the valley below. In addition to ancient temple ruins, you will also enjoy the natural beauty with cool air, pine forest, fog, and low hanging clouds, which is perfect for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
