Get a ride on cable car to Tianmen mountain
Spanning over 7 kilometers, Tianmen Shan cable car ascending to Tianmen, a famous mountain located within Tianmen Mountain National Park, Zhangjiajie, is listed as one of the world's longest cableways. The car runs from Zhangjiajie downtown up to the top of the mountain where houses the renowned Tianmen Cave or Heaven's Gate, a natural hole formed into the side of the mountain. Many people claimed that the cable car ride is the highlight of their trips to Tianmen Mountain due to the sublime sceneries on the way. Passing over the edge of the city and farmland, the cable car starts to go upward about halfway of the journey, looks down the Heaven-linking Avenue, a hazardous winding road with 99 consecutive bends that leads up to the mountain, and offers visitors a breathtaking view of Tianmen Mountain including Heaven's Gate from a distance.
