Tanjung Puting National Park
Located in the southeast part of West Kotawaringin Regency, Tanjung Puting National Park is the most popular ecotourism destination in Kalimantan to view free-roaming orang-utans and visit the research centers. Best explored by a klotok (multistorey liveaboard boat), visitors can cruise along the Kumai river and then the Sekonyer river to the legendary rehabilitation centre at Camp Leakey. The boat tours can take several days into the jungle through different ecosystem like peat swampforest, mangrove and coastal beach forest or secondary forest, promising one of the most memorable experiences you'll have in the island.
