Visit Endangered Primate Rescue Centre (EPRC) in Cuc Phuong National Park
Established in 1993, Endangered Primate Rescue Centre (EPRC), set in Cuc Phuong National Park, is a not for profit project dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, breeding, research and conservation of Vietnam’s endangered and critically endangered primate species. This is an ecotourism spot that offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to observe rare primates in their natural habitat. The centre is the home to 16 primate species, with a total of 179 individuals. EPRC includes endangered primates like the Cat Ba Langur and Douc Langur that were rescued from wildlife trafficking. Center is also home to the iconic white-breasted langur, with only 300 individuals left in Vietnam. With successful reproduction, the center has reintroduced individuals into Van Long Wetland Nature Reserve, including the white-butted langur, Ha Tinh langur, and gray-shanked douc langur. Over the past 20 years, the number of enclosures has increased from two covering 275 square meters to 50 covering a total surface of about 3,200 square meters. Located in Cuc Phuong national forest, it is no wonder that the Endangered Primate Rescue Center is a nature lover's paradise, where visitors can get up close to rare and vulnerable primates.
