Mogao Grottoes Digital Exhibition Center
With the help of modern science, Mogao Grottoes Digital Exhibition Center was open to the public in 2014 with the aim of giving an accessible and comprehensive understanding of the Mogao Caves as well as the historical and cultural background of Dunhuang art for everyone before making a hands-on visit to the real sites locating 16 kilometers from the center. Covering an area of 100,000 square meters, it uses digital technology and multimedia tools to exhibit the overview of Dunhuang's history and culture as well as the exquisite art of the Mogao Caves. As a great place where visitors will be able to witness the details of cave architecture and frescoes within just a few minutes, the center itself plays an important part of the Mogao grottoes conservation and development project.
