Taoist Temple Cebu
In the Beverly Hills subdivision of Cebu City lies a beautifully designed temple known as Cebu Taoist Temple built by Cebu's substantial Chinese community in 1972. There are actually two different temples in the area, the Phu Sian Temple which is not open to the public, and the main temple that is open to the worshipers and non-worshipers alike. From the distance, visitors can notice the temple with towering, multi-tiered, and multi-hued structure, while the entrance has a replica of the Great Wall of China. Here you can join in a Taoist ritual of dropping two blocks of wood. If both are face up then make a wish. If not, it is not yet the time for your wish, try to come the next time. Apart from visiting the chapel or library, tourists can enjoy the great view of the downtown Cebu from the temple’s spacious balconies.
