Explore War Remnants Museum - A must-see attractions in Ho Chi Minh city
Undoubtedly, Vietnam has been well-known across the world for its long history of wars. The Vietnam war created so much of impact that leads to the popularity of Vietnam War Remnants Museum among Western tourists. Formerly called Museum of Chinese and American War Crimes, the War Remnants Museum give tourists the chance to learn realistically about brutal effects of war on its civilian victims and the crimes of Western army during the war.The museum displays US armored vehicles, bombs, weapons and notorious prisons of French and South Vietnamese (originally located on Con Dao island). Tourists might be terrified by the inhumane sharpen ‘tiger cages’, the guillotine and some other war remnantsAfter discovering the “dark” prison outside, visitors will find collections of posters and photographs supporting antiwar movement globally. This is probably the only positive area to counterbalance with the horrific exhibition upstairs. Photos of children who were affected by US bombing or napalming and the real scenery of occurring war battles from sacrificed reporters are displayed. Walking room to room, visitors will learn much information about the previous war and its severe consequences.
