Siem Reap is a pleasant, sleepy backwater serving as a gateway to the ancient capital of Angkor. It is difficult to believe that at its peak in the 12th century, this was one of the most advanced civilizations in the world and home to more than 1 million inhabitants.

Upon arrival at Siem Reap airport, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to your hotel for check in.

Witness amazing views of Angkor Ruin, jungle and rice paddies of Siem Reap by a tethered helium balloon flight. Explore the World Heritage Site of Angkor Wat & nearby ancient temples

After breakfast at around 08:00a.m, you will depart on a tethered helium 15 minute balloon flight that will lead you 200 meters up for an amazing aerial view of Angkor Wat and other ruins amongst the surrounding jungle and rice paddies glimmering down below.

Drive to visit the intricately carved Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat- one of the world’s most impressive ruins. The temple still owns fine Apsara carvings in Angkorian era art. Visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever.

After lunch (at your own account), drive back to hotel for relaxing.

Afternoon around 3pm, explore the mysterious Royal city Angkor Thom City &Bayon. Its 54-tower temple is an awesome sight. At first glance it seems a shapeless mass of stone, but further scrutiny reveals a face, and then another and another until suddenly you are engulfed by the silent, heavy, enigmatic and silent gaze through half-closed eyes, staring out from a primitive and remote time. Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphoun, Elephant Terraces, Lepper King Terrace and Royal Place area.

Dinner at your own account. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Enjoy helium balloon flight over Angkor Complex

Taking a helium balloon flight over Siem Reap is not a new activity but always an attractive experience you should not miss when visiting this heritage land. About 800 meters west from the Angkor Wat Complex, a bright yellow balloon tethered to the ground by a mechanical cable will take you up to the sky to 120 meters high with 20 visitors. You will have 10 - 15 minutes to contemplate the magnificent beauty of the ancient complex Angkor Wat from the bird's-eye view. On a clear day, you will be also able to see Siem Reap surrounding countryside with rice fields, villages, jungle, and hidden temple ruins. It isn’t a long tour but still enough to take in the picturesque scenery and get some stunning pictures of the famous Angkor Wat. Let’s experience a sunrise or sunset flight to bring home fascinating memories that last a lifetime.

After breakfast, drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the smallest, but magnificent, Banteay Srei built in the 10th Century and dedicated to Shiva. The temple was the birth place of Khmer classical style architecture and the bas-relief work is the best example of Khmer classical art remaining. The pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. Khmers say the temple must have been carved by women for the details are too fine for the hands of a man.

On the way back, visit the Butterflies farm which is an interactive butterfly exhibit that consists of a netted tropical garden with thousands of free-flying butterflies, all of which are native species to Cambodia. Butterfly farms are situated in close proximity to areas of natural forest and provide an alternative, sustainable income to rural communities. Your guide will point out and explain the whole circle life of these beautiful butterflies from a to z.

After lunch, you will be transferred back to your hotel for relaxation and remainder of the day is free at leisure.

Dinner is on your own.

At around 07:15pm, you will be transferred to the theater to enjoy Phare Ponleu Selpak Circus, the Siem Reap's most unique, authentic, top-rated evening entertainment. More than just a circus, Phare performers use theater, music, dance and modern circus arts to tell uniquely Cambodian stories; historical, folk and modern. The young circus artists will astonish you with their energy, emotion, enthusiasm and talent.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Enjoy Phare Ponleu Selpak Circus

Phare Ponleu Selpak Circus or the official name Phare, the Cambodian Circus is an amazing night performance of traditional and modern arts, including music, dance, theater, acrobatics, and juggling. All are beautifully choreographed and performed in a specific topic or story about Cambodia lives, culture, and society that make this show a genuinely unmissable attraction in Siem Reap. Most of young performers in Phare, the Cambodian Circus come from Phare Ponleu Selpak, an NGO founded in 1994 by a group of Cambodian ex-refugees artists in Battambang. Located behind the Angkor National Museum, the Circus offers 350 seats and performs nightly at 8.00 pm with different shows: Chills (Preu), Eclipse (Sokrias), Khmer Metal!, Sokha, Phsong Preng (The Adventure), Same Same But Different, White Gold!, etc. This is a great experience that should not be missed in the Temple Town.

Banteay Srei Temple

The ancient temple Banteay Srei is one of the most beautiful structures in the Angkor region that was built to worship the Hindu god, Shiva. The temple is located near Phnom Dei hill, 25km northeast of the ancient capital temple groups of Yasodharapura. Begun in the 10th century, the temple has now become the jewel of the Kingdom and is praised as the miniature of the Angkor Wat complex. Banteay Srei is famous for its elaborate decorative sculptures on the walls and constructed of red sandstone materials. The temple is also known as the ‘Citadel of the Women’ as the Cambodians believe that this small complex must have been built by women due to the masterpiece of elaborate carvings. Today, Banteay Srei Temple welcomes millions of domestic and international visitors annually to visit and explore the exquisite architecture and unique sculptural arts here.

Bamboo train ride in Battambang

Battambang is not really among the top most-visited destinations in Cambodia but most travelers would know about the bamboo train as the most popular tourist attraction and the absolute main reason to travel to Battambang. Situated in the outskirts of town, the bamboo train, also called norry or nori, is basically a bamboo platform placed on wheels and powered by a small engine running on the rail line. The bamboo train rides only several kilometers through rice fields, stretches of bush, and simple bridges with quite fast speed that gives you a feeling of adventure. The whole trip might take around an hour, consisting of a stop at the end of the line where you see some local shop from food, drinks, and souvenirs, explore the surrounding before hopping on the train and move back to the station. If you have time to visit Battambang, don’t miss this unique experience.
