Doi Suthep Temple - The most sacred temples in Chiang Mai
Located at 15 kilometers from the city of Chiang Mai and situated at an elevation of 1,073 meters, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of northern Thailand's most sacred temples. From the temple, impressive views of downtown Chiang Mai can be seen. This 14th century temple is filled with beautiful Buddhist shrines and auspicious relics; it is a beautiful example of northern Thai architecture. Visitors must climb 306 steps to reach the temple’s entrance but the views are well worth it! An easier, alternative route is available via a cable car ride to the top of the staircase for who don’t have much time.
