ARMA Museum
Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) is surely an unmissable stop for every art lover when on holiday in Bali. Officially opened in 1996, this cultural compound displays a huge collection of paintings and artworks, ranging from traditional to contemporary, by local and foreign artists, among which you can find masterpieces by expat artist Walter Spies (1895–1942). Unlike other art museums, ARMA Museum enjoys a bright and open-air place with a spacious yard, lush garden surrounding two buildings for exhibitions. Here visitors can experience Bali’s unique cultural heritage through many handicraft classes, dance performances and myriad cultural courses. If you visit only one museum in Bali, Agung Rai Museum of Art is the best option.
