Tenganan Village (or Bali Aga village)
Located in Karangasem Regency, east part of Bali, Tenganan is one of several ancient villages on the island, which is also known as Bali Aga villages. It practices the local community life pattern with original traditions, ceremonies, and rules of ancient Balinese as well as presents the less influence of Hinduism in the cultural life, a difference from other countryside in Bali. Tenganan village also holds the attractive and unique matters in its village layout and architecture with three separate complexes: resident, plantation and rice field. Nowadays, this village becomes a popular cultural tourist attraction where visitors can explore Gamelan selunding music and geringsing double ikat textiles.
