Rambut Siwi Temple
Picturesquely sit on a clifftop in the east of Yeh Embang village, Jembrana regency, Rambut Siwi Temple is one of the most important sea temples of west Bali. Like Pura Tanah Lot and Pura Luhur Ulu Watu, this sacred temple is established by the priest Nirartha in the 16th century and legend has it that Nirartha donated some of his hair to the local villagers as a protective token. Overlooking a wide stretch of black-sand beach and breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, Rambut Siwi Temple is a very photogenic, particularly at sunset. Yet, this temple remains peaceful and little-visited to tourists. So if you’re looking for a far less crowded temple alternative in Bali, Rambut Siwi Temple is well worth a visit.
