Visit Borobudur Temple - notable UNESCO-listed Heritage Site in Indonesia
If you’re keen on visiting a place of history and culture in Indonesia, don’t miss out Borobudur Temple, the world's largest Buddhist temple as well as a World Heritage Site inscribed in 1991. Located in Magelang Regency, Central Java, this 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple comprises nine stacked platforms topped by a central dome with thousands of relief panels and statues. Remarkably, there are 72 openwork stupas around the circular platforms, each containing a Buddha statue. Beside exploring the temple’s stories from your local guide, you can also enjoy time at two museums located within Borobudur Archaeological Park, named Karmawibhanga Museum and Samudraraksa Museum.
