The Singosari Temple

On the way to Malang city, Singosari Temple is an interesting place to visit for travelers with beautiful architecture and mystical historic stories. Also known as the Cungkup temple, the Singosari temple was served as the funerary site of King Kertanagara, the last king of Singosari dynasty in the 13th century. Inside the temple’s yard, you can see many damaged or unfinished statues, including statues of Shiva, Goddess Durga, and Andini. Meanwhile, about 300-400 meters to the west of the temple, you’ll find two giant statues of Dwarapala, the entrance guards to the compound.
